Email
The Enterprise Email Network provides electronic messaging capability and worldwide connectivity inside and outside State government. The network enables over 57,000 end users who work across 30 agencies, boards, and commissions under the authority of the governor to send, receive and store email. Roughly 400,000 electronic mail messages are delivered each day. BCCS provisions an average of 500 new accounts on a monthly basis.
The integrity of the system is protected by enterprise level filtering of roughly five million spam messages and eight thousand virus infected emails per month. A file exchange utility is also included as part of the service providing a secure method for sharing confidential data and larger files among email customers.
Calendaring is an essential component of the service allowing people to coordinate and plan events and meetings across this large and diverse population.
