Illinois Century Network (ICN)

  • The largest and most successful state telecommunications backbone of its kind in the nation.
  • It serves over 2 million citizens each day with a variety of T-1, cable, and fiber connection options that are designed to best serve customers' needs.
  • 24/7 monitoring and support is provided.

IT Governance

  • Describes the process of developing sound IT decisions that will support important business solutions.
  • IT Guiding Principles establish directions and core themes for IT that support the decision-making process and lead to better business and IT alignment.
  • The Governance process was designed to manage the application of technology to business needs and develops the IT component of business initiatives into projects.

Communications

  • BCCS brochures explain how BCCS operates, the ways in which it serves its customers, and the various accomplishments that it has achieved.
  • BCCS newsletters keep customers in touch with the latest news from BCCS, provide on-going tips about cyber security, and notify customers about changes and new events at CMS in general.
  • The Telecommunications Bulletins that BCCS publishes have real value for customers in that they address recent and pending changes on a wide variety of matters that will significantly affect the products and services that BCCS offers.

Policies

  • BCCS has issued important policies that govern the products and services it offers and guides the processes and procedures it uses to conduct its operations.
  • They address a wide range of issues including IT Governance, change management, desktops and laptops as well as recovery, backup and retention.
  • Particularly noteworthy is their coverage of security issues including data security, data encryption, and resource access and security.

Illinois Wireless Information Network (IWIN)

  • IWIN serves to offer a wide area data network to Federal, State, and local government officials that is rapid, secure and reliable. 
  • It has grown to become one of the largest mobile data networks in the nation due in part to the expansive implementation by its user base. 
  • The support of law enforcement activities accounts for the largest portion of its use.

Customer Service Center (CSC) - (217) 524-4784 or (800) 366-8768.

  • The knowledge of the CSC’s customer service representatives of many of the processes and procedures of the BCCS customer base helps to provide timely solutions. 
  • The CSC responds to an average of 10,000 telephone calls per month and supports over 80 State agencies, boards, commissions and other governmental customers. 
  • The CSC provides for consistent responses to issues experienced across the BCCS customer base and works toward continuous improvements in the services offered.

Security and Compliance Solutions

  • Our Security and Compliance Solutions page offers a wealth of information on Cyber Security.
  • In it you can access posters and tool kits to heighten security awareness.
  • You can also learn about tips that could enhance communications security at work.
  • Additionally, you can review guidelines for protecting confidential material.
